The Importance of Mentoring

Little League Coaching - It is not about the wins/losses. It is about spending an hour or two each day with those young men and women and being a positive influence in their lives. Some of those kids are fortunate enough to come from good homes, while others are simply fending for themselves. All we as coaches can do is love them as if they are our own. Yesterday, I lost one of my players in the plane crash in Carrollton, Georgia. A tough-nosed kid with a big heart and one of the biggest joys to coach. Keep that chinstrap tight and that tinted visor clean, Jeffrey. Get some sacks up in heaven.
